Leeuwenhoek wrote this letter to Robert Boyle as a cover letter. He sent the Royal Society a copy of his newly published Continuatio Epistolarum.
After offering my most humble services, the present purports to send to Your Honour my letters which I have written to the Royal Society in the year 1687, and which the Book-printer has had translated and printed in the Latin language
