Abraham Edens presented cabinet with 26 magnifying glasses to the Royal Society; Isaac Newton wrote a receipt

November 7, 1723

On the same day that the Royal Society received Leeuwenhoek's bequest, brought by Abraham Edens under cover of a letter from Maria van Leeuwenhoek, Isaac Newton wrote, "The Royal Society have this day receiv'd at their meeting, a Cabinet containing twenty six microscopes, left to them by ye late Mr. Antony van Leeuwenhoek, & brought over by Mr. Abraham Edens." He dated it Crane Court, Nov. 7th 1723, and he signed it "Isaac Newton P.R.S."
