A follower of Cornelis Jansen, he was excommunicated by the Archbishop of Mechlin.
Gerard van Loon, a Delft brewer, was one of his students. On June 3, 1716, van Loon presented Leeuwenhoek with a medal from the university at Louvain, given to van Loon by Cink. Leeuwenhoek had already addressed three letters in the Send-Brieven to Cink.
