Letter L-380 of 25 December 1700 to Hans Sloane

I have received your pleasant letter of the 18th of November 1700, from which I was pleased to see that the information contained in the letters I sent were welcome to the Royal Society. I am obliged for the courteous words which the letter contains. The person who brought the said letter, who was also a member of the Royal Society, had little time to stay with me, since he had been invited to dine that afternoon with a distinguished gentleman. He has requested me to greet you on his behalf.
