Reception in London The letter was translated into Latin by JOHANNES HOOGVLIET and sent to London by him under his cover letter Letter ### of 9 September 1723, in this volume; Royal Society, Early Letters, H3.112. Thus, there was no contemporary English translation made.
This letter and Letter 3## were sent together; neither were dated or signed, so HOOGVLIET may have translated them after L. died.
