Appointed curator of the insolvent estate of Hendrick van Tol

Leeuwenhoek's appointment to the Tol estate is recorded in two documents, the one a record of curators' activities, the other a record of the magistrate's decisions, the "chamber books" (kamerboeken).

Op den 5 Julij 1698 is bij de heen Schepenen aengestelt Anthoni leeuwenhouck als curator van desolate boedel van Hendrick van Tol.

On 5 July 1698 was Anthoni leeuwenhouck appointed by the gentlemen magistrates as curator of the insolvent boedel of Hendrick van Tol.

De Heeren van de Geregte der stad Delft stelt bij desen Anthonij van Leeuwenhoek Camerbewaerder van heeren agtb. camer tot curator over de boedel en goederen van Hendrik van Tol, mr. smit, op de 5e Julij 1698 geliqideert, des hij gehouden blijft hem te reguleren de keuren en ordie op 't stuk van de desolate boedels geëmaneert. Gedaen den 5 Julij 1698.
The Gentlemen of the Court of the city Delft hereby appoint Anthonij van Leeuwenhoek Camerbewaerder of the gentlemen's chamber as curator of the estate and goods of Hendrik van Tol, master smith, liquidated on July 5, 1698, he will continue to regulate the statutes and ordinances that issue from the piece of the inslvent estates. Done July 5, 1698.
