includes a description of the Leeuwenhoek memorial and gravesite in the Oude Kerk

it has some inaccuracies about Leeuwenhoek's life that were based on insufficient documentary evidence. For example, "In 1677 Ludwig van Hammer, of Dantzic, drew his [Leeuwenhoek's] attention to the spermatozoa which he had seen three years before, but had not properly recognized." It was Johan Ham of Arnhem who drew Leeuwenhoek's attention to sperm in 1677.
