Leeuwenhoek wrote this letter to Christiaan Huygens to thank him for translating an extract of the October 9, 1676, letter into French. Christiaan had reported through his father that the observations on living creatures in water have been received in France with great interest. Leeuwenhoek requests to be informed of the French opinion on his observations on lice.
