Register of properties along the waters within the city of Delft, signed December 21, 1666. This register is a settlement with homeowners for the cost of maintenance and periodic dredging of grachten (city canals) and warves or quays, levied on the width of the usable quay in front of the door. The rate was four pennies per foot, or three stuivers per rod, where the owners only had to pay for the usable space. Those who had bridges or public landfill cribs (crebbe; later, Leeuwenhoek was a crebbemeester for his nieghborhood) in front of their doors were exempt. The register contains data on payments and owners over the period 1666 to 1688 approximately.
