This microscope is #2 in van Zuylen and Bracegirdle. One of the three Haaxman microscopes, now in a private collection.
The eyeside view, toward the bottom of the body plates, shows some brighter brass and the outline of what looks like a larger L-bracket. Perhaps the threads wore down and Leeuwenhoek replaced the whole mount/screws/bracket focusing system as a piece.
